CAKE Making Recipe
How to Make a Cake :
Many of the best cake recipes start with the same method: beating butter or shortening with sugar until it's fluffy. These cakes are sometimes called creamed cakes because the fat and sugar are creamed together. Here i'll teach you how to make the best creamed layer cake ever.
Step 1: Choose a Recipe
It is important to decide which cake we are going to make. The cake design and texture must be mouthwatering. Now we have to decide the flavors vanilla, chocolate or blueberry.
Step 2: Choose the Right Baking Pans
This step is important step for making of a cake. We need a non-stick pan , this pan is very useful because our cake will not stick to the pan and this make the cake look good.
Step 3: Allow Ingredients to Reach Room Temperature
All the ingredients such as eggs and butter must be kept at room temperature. It is essential because our mixture will mix well at room temperature.
Step 4: Prepare the Pans
We have to prepare our pan and maintains its temperature because we don't want that our batter will stick to the pan if the pan is very hot. So it is mandatory to prepare the pan and ensure its temperature.
Step 5: Preheat the Oven
If we bake the cake too quickly our cake will get cracks and this will make our cake look dirtier. Preheat the oven for 10 minutes at 25°F.
Step 6: Mix Together Dry Ingredients
Dry ingredients include flour, baking powder/baking soda, and salt. Rather than adding each dry ingredient individually to the batter, stir them together in a bowl. That way you know that
the ingredients are equally distributed throughout the batter.
Step 7: Add the Butter and Sugar
Use electric mixture to mix butter for 30 seconds and add sugar into it according to your taste or amount of a cake you are making.
Step 8: Add Eggs One at a Time
Put one egg into a cup. (This way if we get shell of broken egg, we can easily take them out of the cup rather than try to get them out
of the batter.) Add the egg to the butter-sugar mixture and stir well.
Repeat this with the remaining eggs.
Step 9: Alternate Adding Dry and Wet Ingredients
Alternate between adding some of the flour mixture and some of the milk to the butter-egg-sugar mixture, stiring on low speed after each addition until combined well. Begin and end with the flour mixture.Be careful not to overmix at this step of cake or else you might get elongated, irregular holes in the finished cake.
Step 10: Pour Butter Into Pans and Bake
Divide the batter between the baking pans.
Use a metal spatula to spread the batter in an even layer. Be
sure to spread it to the pan edge. Bake your cake according to your
recipe's directions.
Step 11: Check Cake for Doneness
Avoid over baking the cake. check the cake for doneness after the
recipe's stated minimum baking time. For creamed cakes, insert a wooden
toothpick near the center of the cake. If the toothpick we put will comes out clean, then the cake is almost done.
Step 12: Cool the Cake
Leave the cake in a pan for 1 hour and let it cool down. This is a key step to letting the cake firm up, making it less likely to break apart as we put it into frosting.
Step 13: Assemble the Cake
To avoid breakage in your frosting, brush the cake layers with a pastry
brush before assembling. Spread about half cup of frosting over the primary
layer of the cake, then carefully top up with the next layer. Repeat this until the cake is
assembled.
Step 14: Add the First Coat of Frosting
Add a coat by spreading a very thin layer of frosting over the
sides and top of the cake. This initial coat doesn't need to look
perfect; it's another way to keep the crumbs out of the frosting. Let
the cake stand for 30 minutes so the frosting sets up.
Step 15: Frost and Decorate
Use spatula or table knife and smoothly spread the remaining
frosting over the top and sides of the cake.
Serve the cake within 2 hours of refrigerate or store.
